The job announcement structure is rooted in a long tradition of colleges and boards engaging their communities, sitting and past presidents, and outside professionals in the field. A job analysis can be used to understand the skills necessary to perform a particular job. Another importance of analyzing online job advertisements is that it requires the hiring committee, in their own words, to precisely list the skills they need from those interested in the presidency position.
