ABSTRACT

Continuing education to support and upskill workers has been a focus for the Singapore Government since the late 1970s. Since the creation of the SkillsFuture movement in 2015, it has become an important element of the integrated education system. The universities have been called upon to help shape the future state of continuing education. While the universities have responded to this call, the leaders of the universities realise the significant challenges of continuing education, for example, the issue of andragogy, the capability of the faculty in teaching continuing education and the type of model for implementing university-level continuing education.
