ABSTRACT

This chapter operates as a counterpoint to Chapter 2. It looks at the interplay of fantasy/mythology and material precarity in rehabilitation’s divisive prosperity notions, e.g., employability, social inclusion, and disability disclosure as they become engrained in LatDisCrit’s identity juggling. The chapter develops the first part of a theoretical framework for the book by elevating the interplay between ways to undo the coloniality of power, knowledge, and being with modes of resistance tied to posthuman and new materialist ideas. As such, it interrogates traditionalist rights-based approaches to intersectional subalternity and disability justice.
