ABSTRACT
In his discussion of Goffman’s work on impression management and the history of the study of networks, Ulf Hannerz suggests that there are ‘advantages in integrating the dramatuigical perspective with network analysis’, 1 since there are ways – other than those discussed by Goffman – in which variations in self presentation may be affected by and/or themselves affect how networks are put together and function.
