ABSTRACT

Guided imagery has been primarily used for healing purposes and was developed initially to work with cancer patient and others who had life-challenging diseases. The use of the guided imagery approach to psychotherapy and palliative care is a central feature of this book. The different forms of imagery are presented as well as the construction of a guided imagery session. The transcripts for two cases are included: one for someone who has cancer, and the other for a psychotherapy client. Commentary is added.
