ABSTRACT
The concept of development has traditionally been associated with developing countries, but the law and development approach can also be extended to address economic problems in developed countries today. This chapter applies the law and development theory to economic problems in the United States, such as regional economic disparities and widening income gaps, which caused a dramatic upset in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
