ABSTRACT

The shadow or “shadow aspect ” is a part of the personal unconscious mind consisting of repressed weaknesses, shortcomings, and instincts. Carl Jung believed that even though the shadow contains the darker aspects of human nature, it is also the reservoir of human creativity and imagination. The healthy human psyche manages to come to terms with its own particular iteration of inner light and darkness; it might be argued that human existence is a constant struggle to rectify these powerful, opposing internal forces. When analyzing both a characters Through Line and scene actions, it’s important to note their degree of personal self-awareness. Some characters are highly cognizant of the forces that shaped them and why they are striving for a particular goal.
