ABSTRACT

Chapter 15 explores organisational politics and the ethics of leadership. As well as examining the naivety of trying to ignore organisational politics, it raises the issue of ends and means, recognising that leadership can be used to create narrow, tribal and prejudiced groups, and this is often easier than trying to lead across organisational and societal divides. But our conviction is that leadership should be used in the pursuit of constructive, collaborative goals and for the benefit of all.
