ABSTRACT
The conclusion section describes how this book’s research findings can contribute to the existing academic literatures. First, the authors address the main research question of the study by incorporating the findings from the previous sections and deductively examine them with the conceptual framework. Then, this last part presents the contribution of our research in complementing both study on Indonesian politics and civil-military relations, particularly on the role of ideology. This study concludes that the Indonesian military can deceive the democratic demand and reform pressure through formulation of parasitic as well as interventionist thinking without officially altering the existing military ideology.
