ABSTRACT

Practising photography, taking photographs, is a primary part of the research process. Many photographers will start with initial test images very early on in the project development. The studio is an important environment for the making of photographic work. Table-top photography can be created in incredibly small spaces, such as on an ordinary flat table or an infinity table that creates an image which appears to float in space. Photographers will go through a series of tests before coming to a decision about the final construction of an image or series of images. Street photographers have played a major role in the history of photography. The street is a completely different space from the studio, and compositions can emerge in an accidental manner. Working on the street, the photographer takes care of where they are and who they photograph. Street photography demands as much practise as any other kind of photography.
