ABSTRACT

This chapter embodies ways and means to understand the premise of astrology. Perhaps, historically the invention of astrology as a system was to address the matters beyond human cognition and today regardless of the technological and scientific revolution the need for it persists. In Hindu mythology, the nine planets occupy an important role. Planet deities are referred to as the Navgraha and are supposed to have a significant impact on the lives of individuals. Kundli is an exhaustive representation of an individual's course of life; Rashi or zodiac sign and the effect of planets have an important place in a Kundli. Whereas Science is based on the premise free from conjectures; thus, rejecting religious connections established on miracles and revelations—as any belief in the latter, will tantamount to treachery of its own principles. A lucid understanding of anything expects thorough interpretation of its structure supported further with meanings.
