ABSTRACT

Integral development like development itself is a difficult journey which depends upon vision, practices, collaboration and planning among so many actors, institutions and situations. It also works in the context of constraints and blessings of nature as well as the divine as it seeks to realize both inner development as well as outer development, material development and spiritual development. In this journey, Grace helps us. In development discourse and practice as in the related wider fields of social sciences there is little attention to Grace. This chapter engages with it and invites us to meditate upon its significance in cultivating integral development.

Grace is a foundation of our life and it is related to our visions, practices and dances with Truth, travel and translation. It also involves hermeneutics across multiple positions what can be called multi-temporal hermeneutics. Grace is at work in travel as translation which are simultaneously inner as well as relational.
