ABSTRACT

In this chapter, I build upon themes, practices and experiments in Gandhi such as Swaraj and Satyagraha for rethinking and reconstituting development and realizing integral development. This chapter strives to rethink Swaraj as not just self-rule but co-realization.

The chapter also rethinks the vision and practice of Satyagraha—seeking and struggle for truth—as a field that brings the participants of Satyagraha together, those who are undertaking Satyagraha as well as those against whom the Satyagraha is undertaken. Satyagraha is a field of co-realization of the limits and possibilities of both the parties and realize some communications, dialogues and transcendence.
