ABSTRACT

In general, the more complex a coachee’s emotional problem, the more sessions the reader will need to devote to helping their coachee address it effectively. The main advantage of the step-by-step guide is that it provides those new to Rational-Emotive and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (RECBT) with a breakdown of the steps needed to practise RECBT well when dealing with their coachees’ emotional problems within a coaching context. If such a guide were not available, then the reader may very well struggle unduly when the reader come to practise RECBT. In general, the less receptive the readers’ coachee is to RECBT, the more sessions the reader will need to deal with coachee’s doubts, reservations and objections to the RECBT model. In general, the less developed RECBT skills, the more sessions the reader will need to devote to helping coachee address her emotional problem.
