ABSTRACT

An EpiPen is a life-saving medication that helps people who are experiencing a severe allergic reaction. Within a period of just a few years, Mylan raised the price of EpiPens by almost 400%. The CEO of the company was asked to testify in front of Congress and to justify the action of the pharmaceutical giant. Mylan's response justified the raise with the need for reform in the American healthcare system and denied that the desire for higher profits was behind their actions.
