ABSTRACT

The starting point for any entrepreneurial initiative is an ambition and a vision that is subsequently supported by plans and models. Even more important than visions and plans are the people that organize themselves in order to produce impact and financial performance. In addition to managing processes and resources, building a team at the top that shares the same agenda and collaborates in the spirit of a partnership is crucial. Ultimately, building and leading an impact enterprise successfully is about taking action to navigate an organization through the inevitable ups and downs and, in particular, creating the necessary resilience to survive crises. Throughout this chapter, we provide thoughts, tools, and suggested guidelines, and we indicate when and how an active investment organization like elea can be helpful in the process.
