ABSTRACT

The focus of this chapter is on the lived experiences of the Scheduled Caste students amidst the social ontology of the university campuses. The emphasis is on qualitative and quantitative data which map the journeys, suffering and assertion of these students as they negotiate unequal spaces. There are multiple intersections where these students also get empathy from their social superiors while waging struggles for equality. These experiences also shape the personal subjecthood of the student. It also delves into the multiple forms of casteplaining that occurs in the Indian university campuses.
