ABSTRACT

Mindfulness means to be fully present, experiencing connectedness with all that is; it enhances awareness and compassion and predisposes us to social and environmental actions.

Part of my research included asking the interviewed individuals what advice they had for educators, and a few mentioned that mindfulness practices were something that didn't exist in their education; they believed it was important to spark awareness of mindfulness earlier in life. Having some contemplative practices themselves, they explained that this helped them get centered, something they felt was much needed given their daily leadership challenges.
