Increases in government expenditures to strengthen the primary healthcare system are priority strategies to provide healthcare equity in developing countries. Strengthening health research capacity in developing countries is a way to achieve health equity in developing countries. To fight against inequities in healthcare, strong cooperation between developed and developing countries and a global commitment to improve equity are essential. This chapter provides a close look at equity in different kinds of healthcare–related interventions, financing services, and technologies in developing countries. It includes policy advice to improve healthcare equity in developing countries. The chapter provides a brief overview about health interventions in developing countries that improve healthcare equity. Mobile health technologies are a promising tool to address access, coverage, and equity gaps in developing countries and low-resource settings. Healthcare expenditure is catastrophic when a household must reduce its expenditures on basic necessities to accommodate increasing healthcare costs.
