ABSTRACT

It would take a multivolume work to explore all of the unique characteristics to consider when assessing diverse individuals. Encouragingly, there is a recent push for critical self-examination, and the ways we interact with, assess, and interpret results from individuals from ethnoracially, culturally, and linguistically diverse backgrounds. There is also ongoing attention to and discussion around the impacts of sensory impairment or physical disability on testing methods and interpretation across the life span. Further, there is a bourgeoning area of research with lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA) populations. Chapter 14 presents a brief compilation of supplemental resources aimed at deepening understanding and broaching the conversations with psychometrists on cultural competence and appropriate assessment practices across a select set of diverse groups. These lists are by no means exhaustive; they simply offer a starting point.
