ABSTRACT

As clinical psychologists, we complete continuing education units to demonstrate our commitment to keeping up with professional advancements in our field. Clinical neuropsychologists who have completed the board certification process further agree to complete trainings consistent with expected maintenance of certification (MOC) requirements. We work in an exciting and rapidly evolving field, where advancements in assessment techniques, medicine, therapeutics, neuroscience, neuroimaging, and others are expanding at such a rapid rate that it can make it tough to keep up. Nonetheless, we commit to keeping up with as much as we can. In the same way, we are tasked with instilling the value of lifelong learning and professional knowledge growth in those who work under our license. From trainees to psychometrists, it is our job to promote acquisition of knew knowledge and skills. Chapter 16 touches upon some of the methods by which we can support ongoing training and professional development of psychometrists. While this is not meant to be an exhaustive list nor a checklist of requirements, the hope is that some of these opportunities will fit within your current practice or institutional framework.
