ABSTRACT

As licensed psychologists, we are bound by the APA’s Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct (hereinafter referred to as the Ethics Code) as well as various state-level statutes and regulations. With required continuing education credits for ethics mandated across many states, these guidelines, rules, and regulations are some of the most important documents of our professional practice. Given that a psychometrists’ work is directly subsumed under our state licenses, it is of the utmost importance that psychometrists review both the APA Ethics Code and the various state standards that are applicable to psychologists. As an extension of our work, we should expect my psychometrist to be held to the same standard of ethical practice as we uphold each day. Chapter 6 is a summary of the specific ethical principles and codes of conduct most relevant to psychometrists in their work with clients.
