ABSTRACT

Nice, a city in the French Riviera in the Provence–Alpes–Côte d’Azur Administrative Region, in the last years, has been involved in a wide operation of transformation which include new public spaces. The phase consists in the choice and definition of the study area. Two site inspections were carried out on the Promenade du Paillon public space and on the area close to the different accesses, and it was decided that the park, in its entirety, would constitute the study area. The stretch of lawn is used in particular for picnicking and taking a break with medium frequency mainly by young tourists, while taking a break on the benches is carried out by people of all ages, both locals and tourists. The area with wooden games is used with high frequency by children and parents, both locals and tourists, for enjoyment and to take photos and videos of the children’s activities.
