ABSTRACT

The holistic approach to the design of places is an approach that considers all the components that determine their implementation in terms of sustainability, healthiness and liveability, as well as all those involved in a logic of integration and equity. The social infrastructure in urban regeneration areas is an important element in sustainable development and must have equal access for residents. The monitoring of the regeneration process throughout its path is also important to obtain more sustainable results and improve existing programs by modifying the proposed solutions with others that are more adequate than the actual needs. The evaluation of sustainable urban renewal is useful for making stakeholders understand which are the most suitable strategies to effectively obtain sustainable regeneration. In this regard, the indicators can be a useful reference for assessing the usefulness of regeneration programs and their effects on urban health and liveability.
