ABSTRACT

The infrastructural networks constitute the physical subsystem of the city, the venous system that distributes the flows for the survival of the socio-anthropic component and the urban system. In fact, new information technologies allow the generation of networks in a very short time through which urban sociality can exchange information, participate in choices and express consent. The interaction between virtual communities and urban places has different effects. Graham and Marvin observe two elements in particular in this regard: the relationship modalities between virtual communities and the public sphere and the implications of the birth of entirely virtual cities. The smart experiential paths are an example of the use of information and communication technology as a tool capable of supporting knowledge of the place through multimedia and interactive devices. The use of public spaces should also be considered in this direction.
