ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses earthly attachments as recognising and developing it will provide for the credibility that will empower humans for an earthly future, one wherein humans are kind to Earth in recognition of the fact that it matters what people do.Along with a degree of humble tenderness and decentring of the human that makes for the actualisation of earthly attachments, it is argued for responsibility, kindness and caring as terms of human intentions. The chapter says that these are the earthly attachments that are likely to labeled as a 'planetary genre de vie.' A way of relating life and land, here and now, for the Earth. With that, each place is of the Earth and for the Earth and listening requires humility whilst acting, and forming earthly attachments requires being kind and caring. It elaborates that humanity is not one, yet at the same time the promise of the Anthropocene is that humans grapple with a common faith.
