ABSTRACT
This chapter overviews the main appeals of corpus linguistics analytical approaches for health communication research, as well as some of the main limitations, and suggests areas for future developments in the field directed at both addressing these shortcomings and ensuring that corpus-based health communication research maintains pace with developments in the contemporary healthcare landscape. Reflecting on the studies described in the previous chapters, this concluding chapter also offers a critical perspective on what corpus studies can (and currently cannot) contribute to healthcare (communication) practice and the contribution that future research in this area can make to enhance this contribution.
