ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the role of the mentor is covered for student design assignments, at the secondary education, undergraduate, and graduate thesis levels. The mentor relationship is discussed, and the student design process, including paperwork, is mapped out. The chapter also addresses the question of how to grade design assignments. The reader will have a better understanding of how best to support student costume designers.
