ABSTRACT

Research in political science takes many forms and approaches, and other authors may suggest a different process. However, if all the steps in the process presented here are followed, most researchers will successfully complete their projects. There are few limits to the variety of choices of study questions, research strategies, data collection methods, data processing and evaluation approaches. There are also many ways of interpreting the results. It is possible to put these together in many different combinations—no one of which is inherently more correct than another. This chapter describes the steps of the research process.
