ABSTRACT
Not all research methods afford the researcher equal ability to resolve research questions in the scale and scope desired. As a result, approaching a research problem from more than one viewpoint is sometimes necessary to achieve the researchers’ objectives. The mixed methods approach helps to rectify this weakness by giving researchers the ability to validate their results by linking the data extracted from one method with data collected by other means and in other forms. Applying a complementary method in the design may help to corroborate the findings developed by a single method.
