ABSTRACT

Ron Haviv, an award-winning American photojournalist and Emmy-nominated filmmaker, is a co-founder of the photo agency VII, which is dedicated to documenting conflict and increasing awareness of human rights issues around the world. Haviv, who has covered over twenty-five conflicts and documented in over one hundred countries, has had work featured in museums and galleries, among them the Louvre, the United Nations, and the Council on Foreign Relations. His photographs are in the collections at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the George Eastman House, as well as in numerous private collections. Haviv is the recipient of many photography awards, including the Leica Medal of Excellence, multiple Pictures of the Year International awards, and multiple World Press Photo awards.
