ABSTRACT
Certainly the white balance changes throughout the day as the light will change from yellow to white and, if overcast, to blue. This will have some effect on black-and-white conversion from digital colour images and it is recommended that you do a white balance on the computer before converting a colour image to black and white. Much more important is the angle and quality of the light as the day changes, what is illuminated and what is in shadow.
