ABSTRACT
There are two schools of thought here. On the one hand it is very helpful to be able to see the black-and-white image live on a digital camera screen. This helps with composition and the tricky business of predicting how grey tones will be produced from certain colours. On the other hand, shooting in black and white on a digital camera means you have no colour alternative and are restricted to the one monochrome approach dictated by the camera manufacturer.
