ABSTRACT

In this business it’s all too easy to become reactive rather than proactive. The readers may find ourself dealing with day-to-day tasks without planning for the future. For the majority of photographers the author met, making money isn’t the number one priority, although it’s obviously a bonus. It could be worth having a look at how the readers might be able to improve things, giving ourself a bit of a business health check. The people the readers surround ourself with are crucial to their business, whether the readers employ them on a full time or freelance basis, work with them as a team or just share an office with them. Some photographers run a successful business by just sticking to what they do and not particularly embracing changes. Marianne Taylor is a wedding photographer and has also established a business shooting lifestyle and product photography.
