ABSTRACT

Most clients are looking for photographers to really get on board and contribute. They want to find someone to collaborate with; someone who has plenty of their own suggestions. A photographer who has a lot to contribute will make for a better, more memorable experience and a better end result. Good communication throughout the process will make a massive difference as to whether the client wants to work with the readers again. Be clear about all aspects and keep them informed, but don’t take up unnecessary amounts of their time in the process. An initial estimate outlining expectations is a good start, along with clarity on their availability. If the client isn’t on the shoot, they will be grateful for an email saying how well the shoot went. Or if the shoot involves quite a bit of production, keep them posted throughout the process. Good communication is very reassuring.
