ABSTRACT

As a way of supplementing the people knowledge of the business, there is no better way than working as an assisting photographer. Assisting is not really a job for those who have no prior experience of the speed and intensity of studio or location photography. It is more suitable for undergraduate students who, already having some experience of their own in college studios, want to widen their experience by working with professionals. There are one or two networking websites for assisting photographers, but be very careful that they are not just after money for 'registration' or 'training'. The career of digital technician/assistant grew out of the fact that many recently graduated assisting photographers had far wider experience of digital kit and software than some of the established photographers they were assisting. There are possibilities of job placements where the people would spend a longer period with a professional photographer on a range of jobs.
