ABSTRACT

Plagiarism is the technical term for taking someone else's ideas and work, and passing them off. Passing off means pretending the ideas are the people own the key is in the 'knowing deception' of others. Though there may be photographers who intentionally copy others' work, this is more often a trap that photographers fall into by accident. The client then becomes so attached to the specifics of the people example that they end up having to recreate other people's work to satisfy their client. Do not use other photographers' work as suggestive of the people own approach they will only end up copying or modifying their work at best. As part of college and university photography courses, students are often required to recreate a well-known photograph by a famous photographer. By appropriating the superficial look and style of the work the people are not only deceiving their client-they are fooling themselves.
