ABSTRACT

Many independents use only part of a larger program, perhaps preferring to use the camera manufacturer’s Raw file processor before using a third-party stand-alone product. Large organisations, such as established photographic studios and magazines or newspapers, will have carefully structured and possibly rigid workflow patterns that the newcomer needs to learn and work within - whatever their own experiences working as an independent photographer. Working a wedding two-handed or as part of a big editorial team covering a major sporting event, such as the Olympics or Superbowl, require very different workflow approaches from working as a natural history photographer shooting for stock.
