ABSTRACT

Non-destructive editing describes how an image is protected during editing and not overwritten with each command. The Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) plug-in is a freely available piece of software issued with all versions of Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. Unlike the Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop partnership, the unique design of lightroom allows a photographer to work on RAW files without the need for an intermediate processing stage. Saturation describes the intensity of a colour and this can easily be put back into an image, or made even more vivid than it was in the original scene. Masks are interleaved between different layers, providing a stencil-like barrier between the edit and the image. In digital photography, the universal three-channel red, green and blue image enables us to remix the original balance of an image’s entire colour palette and tonal relationships. Traditional photographic print toning required chemical agents, such as sepia and selenium, to make prints with limited colours ranging from brown to purple-reds.
