Sir,—Mr. William Henry Chamberlin, in your issue of January 8, takes me to task for some remarks of mine about America. I should like to suggest, to begin with, that, living in the safe haven of Harvard, he probably knows little of average America, and would feel as alien as I do if planted down in the Middle West.
