ABSTRACT
As a case study, this chapter shows the role of Diego Hernández Victoria as a public personality in Manila, active in the project to build the perimeter of the city wall. This information is contrasted with the accusations of the Inquisition against this Manila city alderman. Finally, the will of Hernández Victoria shows many of his connections with the elites in Asia and New Spain.
