ABSTRACT

What photographers want most of all is for their photos to be memorable. They want their work to be considered relevant as part of the larger historical conversation about photography. If readers are like other photographers, it isn’t enough for people to look at their portfolio. The visual, conceptual, and technical quality of their portfolio elements will definitely leave an impression on a viewer. Viewers will quickly form an opinion about the readers and how they personally embody the attributes expressed in photos and marketing materials. The way they design their portfolio is an opportunity to produce a marketing package that establishes connections between the visual characteristics of what they produce and their favorable qualities as a photographer.
