ABSTRACT

By observing access to political information, political interest, and the political participation of rural residents, we are able to understand the distance between those rural residents and the Chinese government. The acquisition of political information by rural residents has become one of the focuses of political communication researchers. Studies show that some attention has been paid to the issues of rural residents' access to the media, information acquisition, and trust in the government, and the studies have also achieved certain effects in policy practice. This chapter discusses a research that finds that in the aspect of government information acquisition, and satisfaction and trust in the government, the political attitude of rural people is significantly different according to the variations in government level. In order to measure the characteristics embodied in the combination of the rural citizens' trust in government, their government information acquisition, and their government information satisfaction, it paper combines the three factors above and analyzes the factor validity.
