ABSTRACT
The Third Exit – three approaches to contemporary challenges are considered: ecomodernism, sustainable development, spiritual development, the last of which is the most holistic as it subsumes notions of sufficiency, localization, self-reliance, community, new kinds of business models and good governance. The chapter concludes with a consideration of its implications for design.
