ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a hands-on overview of how additional social science statistical procedures are implemented in the R environment. ‘Quick Start’ tutorials cover the generalized linear model (with multiple comparison test and analysis of estimated marginal means) and testing whether a multilevel model is needed using likelihood ratio tests. Other topics include binary logistic regression, gamma regression, Poisson regression, and negative binomial regression. Also treated are the multilevel random coefficients model, panel data regression (including the Hausman test), structural equation modeling, and missing data analysis and data imputation.
