ABSTRACT
This chapter covers three broad topics: the importance of studying drugs (which includes paragraphs about how the authors got interested in studying drugs); the ways that anthropologists become engaged in solving real-world problems related to drugs; and current and future theoretical approaches to the study of drugs within anthropology. We close by inviting readers to engage with issues about drugs in their own worlds.
