ABSTRACT

This chapter analyzes the energy scenario of India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan. The discussion about all these four countries takes place from the perspective of the current stakeholders in their respective energy industries followed by an analysis on the issues and challenges faced by these countries in terms of their energy security. Further, all the energy sectors in their countries including oil, gas, coal, nuclear, biomass, renewables and hydropower are discussed in detail. The role of the national oil and gas companies and their strategies to increase the supply of energy resources in all these four countries are also highlighted to shed some light about their influence on various energy security policies in these countries.
