ABSTRACT
These concluding remarks contextualize the warnings of speculative satire within the COVID-19 pandemic. If Rants seek to gut-punch audiences with an unmistakable forewarning against the Regime, it certainly seems as though the world is experiencing, in 2020, one of those impending calamities so often predicted by works of speculative satire. Rants are more than mere entertainment or escapist flights of fancy. As a complex, hybrid genre of political satire that confronts the wrongdoings of current modern power, Rants call on us to be informed citizens ready to protect democracy.
