ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on supporting sustained commitment to changes in activity and participation patterns. It proposes that support actions need to be directed both to performance demands, and the actual experiences of engagement. In addition, the evaluation of change in a way that is meaningful to the person served can facilitate sustained investment in efforts. The chapter includes the following five sections: supporting sustained investment in activity and participation patterns; enabling sustained change by supporting effective performance in activity and participation; enabling sustained change by supporting positive experiences with activity and participation; evaluating change as a way to sustain commitment and consider future plans; and key competencies.
