ABSTRACT

Program evaluation is an important way to examine if and how a service is achieving its intended purpose and goals. It can be an important way to determine if practices related to activity and participation to promote health and well-being are making a difference, and to serve as a guide for ongoing service development. Some of the tools and resources developed in the Action Over Inertia intervention approach can be used to support evaluation efforts. This chapter includes the following sections: the potential benefits of program-level evaluation of activity and participation; program-level evaluation focused on activity and participation patterns; using program-level evaluation of activity and participation to inform continuous service improvement; and key competencies.
